Network African Women in Food and Agri-tech.

About Us

NAWFAT

The is a dynamic and collaborative initiative aimed at empowering women in the food and agriculture technology (agri-tech) sector across Africa. This concept paper outlines the core objectives, strategies, and anticipated impact of NAWFAT

Objectives

Will provide a dynamic platform for women in agri-tech to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge. Our network will facilitate mentorship and peer support, addressing the isolation many women face in the sector.

We will actively engage with policymakers and industry stakeholders to advocate for gender-inclusive policies that promote women’s participation and leadership in agri-tech. This advocacy aims to eliminate systemic barriers to entry and advancement.

We will actively seek partnerships with agri-tech industry leaders and organizations committed to gender diversity and inclusivity. These alliances will provide mentor-ship, investment opportunities, and support for women entrepreneurs.

NAWFAT will establish online market forums to facilitate connections between women entrepreneurs in agri-tech and buyers. This digital platform will promote trade, business growth, and networking.

As part of our digital initiatives, NAWFAT will develop a user-friendly digital marketplace that offers visibility to women-led agri-tech startups. This marketplace will connect them with potential investors and buyers.

Advocacy for VC Funding

A critical focus of NAWFAT will be advocating for increased VC funding for women in agriculture. We will raise our collective voice to address the gender funding gap, highlighting the innovative contributions of women in agri-tech and advocating for equity in access to capital
